Tax Appeal Deadlines are HERE
August 10th, 2010 9:57 AM

The deadline for filing a tax assessment appeal in Bucks, Chester and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania passed as of August 2, 2010.  This year since the traditional deadline of August 1 fell on a Sunday, the 2010 deadline was extended to the end of business on Monday the 2nd.

What does this mean for homeowners in those counties that want to appeal?  Well, it means that you will have to wait until next year to appeal your 2012 assessment.  Unfortunately, waiting until the last minute will cost many homeowners hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in unnecessary tax dollars.

If you want to appeal your assessment next year, we suggest beginning the process in the late spring and early summer.  This way you can assure that you have your paperwork filed on time and have the necessary documentation to prove your case (a current appraisal of your home) in hand as of the deadline.

Those in Montgomery county have until September 1, 2010 to file their paperwork.

For those of you that met the filing deadline, good luck!
